GameSquire

For board game publishers

Last updated: September 2026

GameSquire helps players track their board games and play them with friends. We are building a rules assistant that answers players' rules questions, so a game night does not stall while someone searches the rulebook. This page explains how we use your rulebooks and how to reach us about them.

How we use your rulebooks

The rules assistant reads the official English rulebook that you publish for free on your own website. We keep a copy only so the assistant can read it when a player asks a question. The answer points to the page it came from, so players can check it in your rulebook.

Players never download our copy. When a player taps "View rulebook", GameSquire opens your own file from your own website. If that link no longer works, we point the player to your website instead.

We only use rulebooks that you offer for free. We respect licences that rule out commercial use. We never use fan translations, scans shared by third parties or files from rulebook archive sites.

Add or update your rulebooks

Send us a link to the current English rulebook, a new edition or a correction. We will add it. We are happy to use the version you prefer players to read.

Let players read your rulebook inside GameSquire

By default GameSquire only shows your rulebook by opening it from your own website. If you would like players to read it directly in the app, even when your link changes, you can give us permission to show our copy. You can withdraw that permission at any time.

Ask us to remove your rulebooks

If you do not want the rules assistant to use your rulebooks, tell us which games and we will stop using them, usually within two working days. Removing them does not affect anything else about your games in GameSquire.
